Sun Jan 19 16:08:33 UTC 2025: ## KCA President Criticizes Sanju Samson’s Lack of Responsibility

**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:** Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) President Jayesh George has leveled sharp criticism against cricketer Sanju Samson, citing his lack of responsibility and unprofessional behavior. While affirming that the KCA harbors no personal animosity towards Samson, George stated that Samson’s conduct is unbecoming of an Indian cricketer and sets a poor example for young players.

George’s comments, made to 24 News, come in response to criticism from Shashi Tharoor and others following Samson’s exclusion from the Indian team for the Champions Trophy. He clarified that the KCA has not filed any formal complaints against Samson with the BCCI.

George cited instances of Samson’s alleged indiscipline, including leaving a camp citing a “medical emergency” without providing details. He also revealed that the BCCI had inquired about disciplinary action against Samson before team selections, to which the KCA responded negatively. This, George suggested, is why Samson remains in the T20 squad for the upcoming England series.

Despite the criticism, George maintained that the KCA supports Samson and has always tried to guide him. He dismissed Shashi Tharoor’s criticism as uninformed. George emphasized that while Samson is a top Kerala player, his behavior needs improvement to reflect the responsibilities of playing for India.
