**CINCINNATI, OH –** Ryan Conwell erupted for 16 points in the final five minutes, leading Xavier to a thrilling 69-63 victory over Villanova on Tuesday night. Conwell’s clutch performance, including a crucial four-point play with 1:40 remaining, sparked a decisive 9-0 run that secured the Musketeers’ win. He finished with a game-high 34 points, shooting 8-of-13 from the field and an impressive 6-of-10 from beyond the arc. He also went a near-perfect 12-of-14 from the free throw line.

Zach Freemantle contributed 10 points and nine rebounds for Xavier (11-7, 3-4 Big East), while Dayvion McKnight also reached double figures with 10 points. Despite trailing 32-24 at halftime, Xavier rallied in the second half, fueled by Conwell’s late-game heroics.

Villanova (11-7, 4-3) received strong performances from Eric Dixon and Jordan Longino, who each scored 18 points. Wooga Poplar added 14 points and two steals for the Wildcats, but their efforts proved insufficient to overcome Xavier’s late surge.

Xavier will face a tough test on Saturday when they travel to face No. 7 Marquette. Villanova hosts Providence on Friday.
