**NEW DELHI** – Reports of an engagement between Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj have been denied by Saroj’s father, Tufani Saroj, a three-time MP and current MLA. Several media outlets reported the engagement on Friday, prompting congratulations on social media.
However, Tufani Saroj clarified to India TV Digital that while discussions are underway between the two families, no engagement has taken place. He stated that Saroj, currently in Thiruvananthapuram on work, is not engaged to Singh.
The cricketer is set to feature in India’s upcoming five-match T20I series against England, beginning January 22nd in Kolkata. The series will also see the return of Mohammed Shami to the Indian squad.
