Fri Jan 17 16:31:02 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka MP Condemns Daylight Robbery Amidst CM’s Visit

**Mangaluru, January 17, 2025** – A brazen daylight robbery at the Kotekar Vyavasaya Seva Sahakara Sangha near Ullal on Friday has sparked outrage and raised concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in Karnataka. The incident, which occurred while Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was visiting Mangaluru, saw armed men looting gold and other valuables.

Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta condemned the robbery, calling it “shameful and a matter of concern.” In a press release, he urged the government to swiftly apprehend and punish the perpetrators. He highlighted the incident as evidence of a broader trend of escalating crime, citing recent ATM robberies in Bidar, cow mutilations in Bengaluru, and a fraud case near Vitla involving impersonation of ED officials. Chowta, who is also the State Secretary of the BJP, asserted that these incidents demonstrate a complete breakdown of law and order in the state. He believes the robbery during the Chief Minister’s visit should serve as a stark reminder of the urgent need for improved policing and crime prevention measures.
