Fri Jan 17 18:43:00 UTC 2025: ## Tata Motors Unveils Near-Production Sierra SUV at Bharat Mobility Expo
**New Delhi, India –** Tata Motors created a buzz at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 by showcasing a near-production version of its highly anticipated Sierra SUV, powered by an internal combustion engine (ICE). While specific powertrain details remain under wraps, the vehicle’s appearance strongly suggests an imminent market launch, potentially later this year.
The Sierra, displayed alongside the production-ready Harrier EV and the Avinya X concept, closely resembles its 2020 concept design. Notable updates include a full-width LED DRL replacing the blacked-out grille, “Sierra” badging on the side, and a redesigned front bumper with rectangular fog lamps and a large central air intake. The SUV boasts a rugged look, enhanced by short overhangs, 19-inch alloy wheels filling prominent wheel arches, and skid plates. The iconic Alpine windows from the original Sierra have been reinterpreted for the rear doors and quarter glass. A boxy profile is completed by an upright rear windscreen and tailgate.
Although the interior was largely concealed, a three-screen dashboard layout was visible. Engine options remain unconfirmed, but Tata Motors is expected to leverage existing powertrains from its Harrier and Safari models. A 2.0-litre Fiat-sourced diesel engine and a potentially new 1.5-litre Hyperion turbo petrol engine are strong possibilities.
The Tata Sierra is poised to compete in the midsize SUV segment, challenging rivals such as the Mahindra Thar Roxx, Jeep Compass, and MG Hector. Further details are expected in the coming months.
