**Mumbai, India** – Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering well after a knife attack at his Mumbai home early Thursday morning, according to his doctors. New CCTV footage has emerged, showing the suspect fleeing the scene and later changing clothes at Bandra railway station.
Khan, 54, underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital for multiple wounds, including injuries to his hand and neck, and a serious wound near his spine. Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange reported that the sharp object lodged near Khan’s spinal cord was successfully removed, and the actor is expected to be discharged in two to three days after a period of bed rest. He has already been moved out of the ICU. Dr. Dange confirmed that the spinal cord itself was not damaged.
The CCTV footage shows the suspect, wearing a red scarf and carrying a backpack, leaving Khan’s sixth-floor apartment in the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building at approximately 2:30 AM. Further footage shows the suspect later in a blue shirt at Bandra railway station.
Mumbai Police have recorded a statement from Khan’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and have formed over 30 teams to apprehend the suspect. While no arrests have been made yet, Maharashtra Minister of State for Home (Urban) Yogesh Kadam stated that robbery is believed to be the motive and that no underworld connections are suspected. The investigation is ongoing.
