**Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, January 17, 2025** – Two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured on Friday morning when a Maoist-planted improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district. The incident occurred while a BSF road-opening party was patrolling between their camp near Garpa village and the village itself. The injured jawans are being transported to a hospital.

This attack follows a recent surge in Maoist activity in the region. On Thursday, two CoBRA commandos were wounded by a pressure IED in neighboring Bijapur district. Similar incidents over the past week have resulted in injuries to a 10-year-old girl, two policemen, and a villager killed. A more serious attack on January 6th in Bijapur claimed the lives of eight police personnel and their driver when their vehicle was targeted by a Maoist IED. Police are investigating the latest incidents.
