**Mumbai, January 17, 2025** – Mumbai police have arrested the suspect in the attack on renowned actor Saif Ali Khan. The Padma Shri awardee was seriously injured when a man wielding a knife attacked him at his home.
According to police reports, the assailant, who has not yet been publicly identified, broke into Khan’s residence and initially attacked his housekeeper, Eliam Phillips, threatening to kill her unless she handed over ₹1 crore (10 million rupees). Khan intervened, resulting in the suspect stabbing him before fleeing the scene. Khan suffered injuries to his neck and spine and was rushed to the hospital by auto-rickshaw, as his car was unavailable. Doctors have reported that he underwent surgery and is now in stable condition.
