**MUMBAI, January 16, 2025** – Anurag Kashyap’s Malayalam film debut, “Rifle Club,” is now available for streaming on Netflix. The thriller, directed by Aashiq Abu and also starring Hanumankind, Dileesh Pothan, Vishnu Agasthya, Vani Viswanath, Surabhi Lakshmi and Unnimaya Prasad, initially saw a theatrical release on December 19, 2024, but is now receiving a wider audience through its OTT premiere.

“Rifle Club” follows a terrified couple who flees to a remote Kerala rifle club after unintentionally killing the son of an underworld don. Their precarious situation is further complicated by the arrival of a movie star researching hunting techniques for his next film.

Kashyap, in an interview with Gulf News, commented on the differences between the Malayalam and Hindi film industries, noting the greater emphasis on filmmaking over individual vanity in Malayalam cinema. He contrasted this with the box-office-driven nature of Hindi films, which he believes stifles creative storytelling.

Netflix announced the film’s release on its Instagram page, highlighting its availability as a fresh start for viewers in the new year. While the film’s theatrical run didn’t meet expectations, its Netflix release offers a chance for a wider audience to experience its unique plot and suspenseful narrative.
