**Vatican City** – Pope Francis has suffered a second fall in less than three months, the Vatican announced Thursday. The 88-year-old pontiff fell at his residence, Santa Marta, sustaining a bruised right forearm. While X-rays confirmed no fractures, his arm is now in a sling as a precautionary measure.
This latest incident follows a fall in December that resulted in a significant bruise to his right jaw. The Pope, who has experienced increasingly fragile health in recent years, deals with ongoing knee and hip pain, as well as recent bouts of bronchitis. He has relied on a wheelchair since 2022.
Despite these health challenges, the Pope remains remarkably active. Just last September, he completed a grueling four-nation tour, the longest papal trip of his pontificate in both duration and distance travelled. The Vatican has offered no further details on the cause of the latest fall.
