Fri Jan 17 14:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Suzuki Joins India’s Electric Scooter Race with New Access EV

**NEW DELHI** – Suzuki has entered India’s burgeoning electric scooter market with the launch of its new Access Electric. The scooter boasts a claimed range of 95 km on a single 3.07 kWh battery charge, which takes 4 hours 30 minutes to reach 80% and 6 hours 42 minutes for a full charge using a 240W charger. Powered by a 4.1 kW electric motor, the Access Electric achieves a top speed of 71 kmph.

While visually similar to its petrol-powered counterpart, the Access Electric features a new platform, telescopic front forks, swingarm rear suspension, and 12-inch alloy wheels. Weighing in at 122 kg with a 765 mm seat height, the scooter offers a range of features including smart connectivity, three driving modes, reverse mode, and a smart key with a lost key alert.

The Access Electric will compete directly with Honda’s recently launched Activa e: and other electric scooters already available in the Indian market, where Ola currently holds a significant market share. The launch comes hot on the heels of Honda’s unveiling of its new electric scooters and follows the recent introduction of other electric two-wheelers. Suzuki also showcased other vehicles, including the Gixer SF Flex Fuel and a new Access 125, at the Auto Expo 2025. A detailed comparison of the Access Electric with its competitors is promised soon.
