Fri Jan 17 03:43:24 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Shivers After Rain, Yellow Alert Issued

**NEW DELHI:** Delhi experienced a dip in temperature following light rain early Thursday morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more fog, mist, and the possibility of light rain throughout the day. A yellow alert has been issued for January 17-19.

The IMD recorded 3.7 mm of rainfall in the city between 11:30 PM Wednesday and 5:30 AM Thursday. While the maximum temperature on Thursday reached a normal 19.6°C, the minimum temperature was 10.3°C, 2.7°C above normal. Humidity levels fluctuated between 61% and 100%.

The IMD predicts clear skies on Friday, but with dense fog in the morning, potentially leading to a further temperature drop in Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, and Gurugram. Similar conditions are expected Saturday morning. Friday’s temperatures are forecast to range from approximately 8°C to 19°C. Light rain is also predicted for the evening and night of January 21st.

The IMD’s seven-day forecast includes the possibility of light rain on Friday, clear skies on Saturday, some cloud cover on Sunday, and cloudy conditions from Monday to Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Centre’s committee on Delhi-NCR air quality has lifted the restrictions imposed under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage IV, citing an improvement in air quality. These restrictions, implemented on Wednesday due to stagnant air, low temperatures, and fog, were lifted after air quality improved. The Air Quality Index (AQI) had reached 396 on Wednesday evening.
