**Kochi, Kerala – January 16, 2025** – A former judge of the Kerala High Court, Sasidharan Nambiyar (73), has reportedly lost ₹90 lakh to an online investment scam. The fraud, which occurred between December 4th and 30th, 2024, involved promises of exorbitant returns on share market investments.

According to police reports, Mr. Nambiyar was contacted by individuals identified as Ayana Joseph and Varsha Singh, who lured him into a purported investment group via an online link. He subsequently transferred funds through IMPS and RTGS, expecting an 850% profit. However, he received neither the promised returns nor the return of his principal investment.

The Hill Palace police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for criminal breach of trust and cheating, along with provisions of the Information Technology Act for cheating by personation using computer resources. The accused remain at large, and the police are currently investigating to identify their true identities and locations. The incident serves as a stark warning about the increasing prevalence of online investment scams targeting unsuspecting individuals.
