**Belagavi, Karnataka, January 13, 2025** – Swami Vivekananda’s 163rd birth anniversary was observed across Karnataka on Sunday with various events paying rich tribute to the renowned philosopher and spiritual leader.
In Dharwad, organizations, student unions, and educational institutions, including Karnatak University and the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram, held commemorative events. Speakers at a JSS College event highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s teachings on self-conquest and the importance of willpower, determination, and perseverance in achieving goals.
Belagavi saw significant celebrations, including a Viveka Nadige Marathon organized by BJP members, starting from the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram. MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi urged the youth to draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s life. BJP district president Subhash Patil spoke about the philosopher’s life, his contributions to society, and his visit to Belagavi in 1892 and the World Parliament of Religions in 1893.
