**NEW DELHI** – The harvest festival of Lohri was celebrated with enthusiasm across India today, particularly in Punjab and Haryana. Lohri marks the end of winter and the harvesting of rabi crops. Celebrations traditionally involve the worship of Lohri Mata, bonfires, and the sharing of greetings and well wishes amongst family and friends. Numerous online greetings, images, and messages were shared to mark the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Maha Kumbh 2025, one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, also commenced today in Prayagraj. Expected to draw approximately 40 million pilgrims from across the globe, the event is scheduled to last for about a month and a half.
