Mon Jan 13 14:29:28 UTC 2025: ## Four Arrested in Kasaragod for MDMA Smuggling
**KASARAGOD, January 13, 2025** – Four individuals, including two women, were arrested in Kasaragod, Kerala on Monday for allegedly smuggling approximately 100 grams of MDMA, a synthetic drug. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of ₹6 lakh (approximately $72,000 USD).
The arrested suspects are Mohammed Sahad (26), P.M. Shanavas (42), his wife Sharifa (40), and P.M. Shuaiba (38). Police believe the MDMA originated in Bengaluru. Authorities also confiscated the vehicle used in the smuggling operation. Interestingly, the suspects reportedly brought a child along in an apparent attempt to evade detection.
The operation was spearheaded by District Police Chief D. Shilpa and supervised by Bekal DySP V.V. Manoj. The investigation is ongoing.
