Sun Jan 12 12:50:15 UTC 2025: ## BJP Accuses Kerala Leaders of Accepting Funds from CMRL

**Kozhikode, January 12, 2025** – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K. Surendran leveled serious allegations against leaders from both the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala. Surendran claimed that these leaders, including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his family, along with prominent figures like Ramesh Chennithala and P.K. Kunhalikutty, received funds from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd. (CMRL).

These accusations follow the Union government’s defense of a Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) probe into CMRL’s dealings with Exalogic Solutions Private Ltd., a company owned by CM Vijayan’s daughter. The Centre alleges that CMRL illegally disbursed ₹185 crore to various entities and political leaders.

Surendran asserted that the SFIO investigation is not politically motivated and further criticized the state’s Home Department for its handling of a recent sexual exploitation case involving a minor girl from the Scheduled Caste community in Pathanamthitta. The BJP leader’s statements are likely to intensify political tensions in Kerala.
