Sat Jan 11 19:10:00 UTC 2025: **Serie A Referee Marchetti to Miss Second Consecutive Match Due to Injury**

MILAN, ITALY – Referee Matteo Marchetti will miss his second consecutive Serie A match due to injury. The Ostia-based official, originally assigned to officiate the upcoming Milan-Cagliari match, has been forced to withdraw. This follows his last-minute withdrawal from the Napoli-Venezia game, also reportedly due to injury.

Francesco Fourneau of Rome will replace Marchetti for the Milan-Cagliari fixture. Cosso filled in for Marchetti in the Napoli match, marking his Serie A debut for the season. Marchetti’s last appearance was in the Juventus-Bologna game in early December. A previous change to the Milan-Cagliari officiating team saw Perenzoni replaced by Rutella as the fourth official.

The news of Marchetti’s absence comes amidst other Serie A headlines, including discussion surrounding potential new Milan signings, post-match comments from players, and an updated league table following a draw between Torino and Juventus.
