**Rajkot, India –** India Women’s cricket team will face Ireland Women in a three-match One Day International (ODI) series, starting this Friday, January 10th at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. All three matches will be played at the same venue.
The series sees India coming off a 3-0 whitewash of the West Indies, while Ireland suffered a 0-3 defeat against Bangladesh in December. This series will be notable for several key changes within the Indian squad. Regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur and pacer Renuka Singh have been rested, with Smriti Mandhana taking the captaincy reins. Two uncapped ODI players, Raghvi Bist and Sayali Satghare, have received call-ups, while experienced players Shafali Verma and Arundhati Reddy have been left out. The team also features the continued inclusion of Pratika Rawal.
Ireland will be captained by Gaby Lewis. The team will be without Amy Hunter due to a foot injury, with Joanna Loughran brought in as a replacement. Aimee Maguire, a U19 player, has also been included in the squad. Experienced players Laura Delany and Orla Prendergast provide veteran leadership to the Irish side.
