**Hyderabad, January 10, 2025** – Four people, including the bus driver, died early Friday morning when a private bus collided with a stationary lorry on National Highway 65 near Ailapuram in Suryapet, Andhra Pradesh. Twenty others sustained injuries in the accident.
The bus, operated by Gupta Travels, was carrying approximately 23 laborers from Odisha to Hyderabad for work when it struck the sand-laden lorry, which was parked due to a flat tire. The impact resulted in the deaths of two men and two women; police are currently working to confirm their identities. Four of the injured are in critical condition and have been transferred to Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad, while others are receiving treatment at the Government Area Hospital in Suryapet.
The lorry driver has been detained, and Chivemla police have initiated an investigation and filed a case.
