BENGALURU, INDIA – January 9, 2025 – Bengaluru is gearing up to host the 12th edition of Comic Con India on January 18th and 19th at the KTPO Whitefield. The event promises a weekend packed with comics, anime, gaming, and pop culture, featuring celebrity guests, exclusive merchandise, cosplayers, and live performances.

This year’s Comic Con will boast a large gaming arena, immersive experiences, and extensive shopping opportunities. Panels will feature international comic legends like Ron Marz and Jamal Igle, alongside rising Indian creators.

The event will highlight four notable Indian comic artists: Savio Mascarenhas (Tinkle Magazine), Mohammed Ali Vakil (Sufi Comics), Rahil Mohsin (HalluBol), and Marvel artist Tadam Gyadu. Each artist brings a unique perspective and style to the Indian comics scene.

Mohammed Ali Vakil, along with his brother, has pioneered Sufi Comics, blending Islamic tales with captivating visuals, bridging cultures and generations. Their work, inspired by Persian and Turkish miniature art, incorporates Quranic verses and has successfully transitioned to digital platforms, boosting their following significantly.

Savio Mascarenhas, a veteran of Tinkle magazine, has spent over three decades shaping iconic characters like Shikari Shambu, adapting the character to reflect modern concerns like environmentalism. He credits his success to adapting to evolving children’s interests while subtly weaving in social messages.

Rahil Mohsin, co-creator of HalluBol, is using comics to promote the Dakhni language and challenge stereotypes associated with its speakers. His work explores social issues like toxic masculinity and generational trauma within a relatable Dakhni context.

Tadam Gyadu, an Arunachal Pradesh native, is fulfilling his childhood dream by creating art for Marvel Comics, contributing to titles like Ghost Rider and Spider-Man India. While acknowledging the underrepresentation of Northeastern artists, he focuses on universal storytelling, subtly incorporating Indian elements into his work.

Comic Con India Bengaluru 2025 promises to be a vibrant celebration of creativity and pop culture, showcasing both established and emerging talent in the Indian comics industry. Tickets are available on insider.in. For more information, visit comicconindia.com.
