**Thrissur, Kerala – January 9, 2025** – The Thrissur district team’s triumphant return with the gold cup from the State School Arts Festival was met with a jubilant and massive welcome, marking the district’s first win in 26 years. The celebratory procession, led by Revenue Minister K. Rajan and P. Balachandran MLA, mirrored the excitement of a World Cup victory.
The celebrations began at Koratty, where a large crowd of students, teachers, parents, and local officials had gathered to greet the team. The procession continued through Chalakudy, Puthukkad, and Ollur, with enthusiastic welcomes at each stop. At Koratty Signal junction, the crowd swelled further, with the addition of MLA Sanish Kumar Joseph and other political leaders.
The grand finale took place at Thrissur Town Hall, where a special reception was held for the winning team. The event was attended by ministers, cultural activists, students, teachers, parents, and PTA representatives. The team was initially taken to Thrissur Model Girls School before the procession to the Town Hall.
All schools in the district observed Thursday as a victory day, commemorating the return of the gold cup after a 26-year absence. Minister Rajan declared the day a victory not just for educational institutions but for all of Thrissur, praising the students’ exceptional performance and highlighting the significance of their achievement.
