**Chennai, January 9, 2025** – A dilapidated primary school building in Muthiah Sathyavani Muthu Nagar, Chennai, is slated for immediate repairs following an inspection by city officials. The inspection, part of a week-long initiative ordered by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, was led by Minister P.K. Sekar Babu, Mayor R. Priya, and Regional Deputy Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja on Thursday.
The minister, after assessing the condition of the school in Ward 59, instructed the Greater Chennai Corporation to begin repairs immediately. Local residents’ concerns regarding a lack of playground facilities were also addressed, with the minister ordering improvements to recreational spaces for students.
The inspection encompassed other areas within the ward, aiming to resolve various civic issues reported by residents. The initiative involves officials from the Corporation, Metrowater, and the Electricity Board, alongside councillors and elected representatives. This marks the seventh day of the ongoing city-wide drive to address civic concerns.
