**Mysuru, January 8, 2025** – The JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER) will hold its 15th convocation ceremony on January 10th at 11 a.m. on the campus of JSS Medical College in Mysuru. The event will feature former Chief Justice of India, Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, as the chief guest and convocation speaker.
Over 2,795 graduates will receive their degrees across various faculties, with a record 104 PhDs awarded. 56 meritorious students will also receive 75 medals and awards.
JSS AHER officials announced at a press conference that the university has achieved an NAAC A++ Grade accreditation and improved its NIRF ranking to 24th nationally. The university boasts a student body exceeding 9,000, supported by 767 teaching and 530 non-teaching staff.
Five new specialized programs focusing on health, safety, and well-being have been introduced, including an MSc in Health Technologies and Data Sciences and a Master of Occupational Therapy. In 2024 alone, the university sanctioned 311 research projects worth ₹26 crore, resulting in 1,150 new publications, bringing the total to 13,008. JSS AHER also maintains 155 collaborations, further expanding its global reach. A new global campus in Varuna is slated to open in September 2026.
Vice-Chancellor Mr. Basavanagowdappa stated that future initiatives will concentrate on expanding the university’s global presence and enhancing the quality of education and research.
