**Patna, Bihar, January 7, 2025** – Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, was hospitalized today in Patna after experiencing dehydration following a recent arrest and hunger strike. A doctor visited Mr. Kishor at his home and advised immediate hospitalization. He was transported to a private healthcare facility by ambulance.

Mr. Kishor, who was arrested on Monday for violating a Patna High Court order by conducting an illegal fast-unto-death protest at Gandhi Maidan, was released on bail the same day. His protest was in support of civil service aspirants demanding the cancellation of allegedly leaked Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exams.

Despite his hospitalization, Mr. Kishor stated his hunger strike would continue. A doctor attending to him confirmed he is suffering from infection and dehydration, along with general weakness and discomfort. The doctor added that several medical issues require thorough examination.
