**Mumbai, January 7, 2025** – A fire in a high-rise residential building in Andheri, Mumbai, claimed the life of a senior citizen and left another hospitalized. The blaze broke out around 10 pm on Monday, January 6th, in an 11th-floor apartment of the 13-story Sky Pan building in the Oberoi Complex.
Firefighters extinguished the fire at 1:49 am Tuesday, after nearly four hours. Two residents suffered from smoke inhalation and were transported to Kokilaben Hospital. Rahul Mishra, 75, was pronounced dead on arrival, while 38-year-old Raunak Mishra is currently receiving treatment.
The fire, believed to have been caused by a short circuit, was contained to electrical wiring, installations, and household items within the affected apartment. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
