Mon Jan 06 09:39:38 UTC 2025: ## New Hyderabad Railway Terminal Opens, Aiming to Ease Congestion

**Hyderabad, Telangana –** A new railway terminal station, Cherlapalli, opened in Hyderabad on Monday, January 6, 2025. Virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ₹413 crore terminal is the fourth in the city, joining Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kacheguda stations. Its location on the city’s eastern side aims to alleviate congestion at the existing terminals.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Minister and Telangana BJP president G. Kishan Reddy, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, South Central Railways (SCR) general manager Arun Kumar Jain, and others. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy participated virtually.

While offering modern amenities including lifts, escalators, and sleeping pods, the Cherlapalli station’s accessibility via public transport remains a consideration. The nearest metro stations, Habsiguda and Uppal, are approximately 11 and 12 kilometers away, respectively.
