**Ramanathapuram, January 4, 2025** – The Ramanathapuram district BJP president, Dharani R. Murugesan, has accused police of preventing women party members from attending a rally in Madurai on Friday. Mr. Murugesan claimed police preemptively visited the homes of the women cadre in the days leading up to the rally to ensure they did not participate. He further alleged that police manhandled party functionaries as they prepared to depart for Madurai, resulting in injuries to both men and women. Mr. Murugesan stated he is compiling a list of the officers involved and will submit it to senior police officials.
