**Chennai, January 4, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu government announced the completion of 130 new direct procurement centers for paddy farmers across the state. An additional 100 centers are currently under construction. This initiative, undertaken over the past 40 months, is part of a larger ₹100 crore project to establish 230 such centers statewide. Furthermore, the government has built 213 out of 259 planned paddy storage godowns, a ₹358 crore project initiated under Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s direction. These improvements aim to streamline paddy procurement and benefit farmers across the state.
