**KOLLAM, Kerala (Jan 4, 2025)** – A taluk-level adalat, “Karuthalum Kaithangum,” held in Kunnathur, Kollam district on Friday, saw ministers address numerous citizen grievances. The event, attended by Ministers K.N. Balagopal, J. Chinchurani, and Kovoor Kunjumon, along with the District Collector and other officials, resolved 113 of 245 pre-filed complaints. A further 207 new complaints were received and forwarded to the relevant departments.

Among the key issues addressed were the reinstatement of a disability pension for a 27-year-old man and the restoration of financial assistance under the Ashwasakiranam scheme for his family. Minister Balagopal directed immediate action on these cases. Another case involved a land encroachment blocking road access for five families, including one with a differently abled member. Minister Chinchuraan ordered a notice and action within two days.

The adalat also saw 15 people receive Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration cards, with 11 receiving AAY cards and four receiving priority cards. The event highlighted the government’s commitment to addressing local concerns through efficient grievance redressal mechanisms.
