Fri Jan 03 04:41:19 UTC 2025: ## Maha Kumbh 2025: Prayagraj Gears Up for Millions with Tech-Driven Safety and Ticketing

**Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh –** Preparations are underway for the Maha Kumbh Mela, a massive religious gathering expected to draw millions to Prayagraj from January 13th to February 26th. This year’s event, taking place after a 12-year gap, will see a significant focus on safety and technological advancements to manage the expected crowds.

The district administration has implemented a robust fire safety plan, including the opening of new fire stations and the deployment of 365 vehicles, including ATVs, firefighting robots, and mist bikes. Firefighting boats will also be deployed on the Ganga river within a week to tackle potential blazes in riverside areas. Additionally, officials will conduct awareness campaigns and mock drills to prepare attendees for fire emergencies. ADG Fire Padmaja Chauhan emphasized the importance of public awareness and preparedness in handling minor fire incidents.

To ease ticketing congestion, the North Central Railway has launched a QR code initiative. Railway personnel in distinctive green jackets will be stationed at Prayagraj Junction and other key locations. Scanning the QR code on their jackets will direct pilgrims to the UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) mobile app, allowing them to purchase tickets digitally and avoid long queues. This digital approach, incorporating digital payment options, aims to streamline the ticketing process for the millions of expected attendees.

The main bathing rituals, known as the Shahi Snan, are scheduled for January 14th (Makar Sankranti), January 29th (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3rd (Basant Panchami). Authorities are working tirelessly to ensure a safe and efficient experience for all pilgrims attending this significant religious event.
