**Hyderabad, January 2:** The Telangana government has declared January 3rd, the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, as Women Teachers’ Day, according to a government order (GO No. 9) issued by Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari. The decision was welcomed by state BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who lauded Phule’s significant contribution to women’s education. The day will be observed annually across the state to honor Phule’s legacy and celebrate women in the teaching profession.
