**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Dec 31, 2024** – A 70-year-old former librarian was killed in a bus accident at Model School Junction in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday night. Dorai Raj, a resident of Thamalam and former librarian at the University of Kerala, died after being run over by a private bus while riding his scooter.

Police are investigating the incident, hampered by the lack of witnesses and darkness at the time of the accident. Investigators will review SmartCity CCTV footage to reconstruct the events leading to the tragedy. Mr. Raj’s body has been sent to the Government Medical College mortuary.
