**Vellore, Tamil Nadu, January 1, 2025** – A 38-year-old man, K. Murugan, was arrested in Katpadi on Tuesday for stealing numerous two-wheelers across Vellore district. Murugan, a resident of Karigiri village, targeted specific models easily unlocked, stashing the stolen vehicles in his village before selling them to local illegal arrack sellers for ₹5,000-₹10,000 each. Police apprehended him during a routine vehicle check in Katpadi when he was unable to provide proper documentation for the vehicle he was riding. He has a history of petty crimes in his village and has been remanded to Vellore Central Prison. The investigation is ongoing.
