**Hyderabad, January 1, 2025** – Five individuals were detained in Hyderabad on New Year’s Eve after testing positive for narcotics during surprise checks conducted across the city. The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB), collaborating with local police, Special Operations Teams, and the Excise Department, carried out the raids at pubs, farmhouses, and resorts.
According to TGANB director Sandeep Shandilya, one person was detained at a farmhouse, two at pubs, and two during random vehicle checks. Four tested positive for marijuana, while one tested positive for both marijuana and methamphetamine. The raids focused on high-traffic areas, utilizing on-site drug tests conducted by specialized teams.
