Wed Jan 01 16:10:00 UTC 2025: **Georgia Bulldogs’ Starting QB Carson Beck Declares for 2025 NFL Draft**

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck, who recently underwent elbow surgery, has announced his intention to enter the 2025 NFL Draft. Beck, a two-time Manning Award finalist and a key player in Georgia’s recent success, made the announcement on social media Saturday.

The 6’4″, 220-pound quarterback suffered a UCL injury in the SEC Championship game against Texas on December 7th. Surgery, performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, was successful, and Beck is expected to make a full recovery and resume throwing in the spring.

Despite the injury and a slightly less prolific season than 2023 (3,485 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 2024), Beck’s career at Georgia was highly successful. Over the past two seasons, he accumulated 7,426 passing yards and 52 touchdowns, leading the Bulldogs to a 24-3 record as the starter. He maintains a high draft ranking, currently listed as the No. 4 draft-eligible quarterback prospect by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.

Beck expressed gratitude to his teammates and coaches in his announcement, stating he will support the team during their College Football Playoff run, beginning Wednesday against Notre Dame in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Redshirt sophomore Gunner Stockton will take over as starting quarterback for the upcoming game.
