**Hyderabad, December 26, 2024** – A 26-year-old software engineer, Venkat Reddy, died Wednesday night from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident in Gachibowli on Tuesday. Reddy was riding his motorbike with a pillion passenger, 21-year-old Shivani, a B.Tech student from CBIT, when a speeding car driven by 19-year-old BBA student Y. Srikalash collided with them from behind. Shivani was killed instantly.
Police have arrested Srikalash, who allegedly fled the scene after the accident. Raidurgam Inspector Ch. Venkanna stated that Srikalash was driving his sedan at approximately 100 kilometers per hour on the service road from Raidurgam to Narsingi when he negligently struck the motorbike.
Reddy succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment. His body was released to his family following a post-mortem examination. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
