**SHIVAMOGGA, KARNATAKA (December 25, 2024):** A three-day theatre festival will be held in Shivamogga from December 27th to celebrate the birth anniversary of renowned Kannada poet Kuvempu. Organized by the Hongirana theatre troupe, the festival will take place at the Kuvempu Ranga Mandira.
The festival will feature three plays: “Ravana Darshanam” (based on Kuvempu’s “Sri Ramayanadarshanam”), “Bommanahalli Kindari Jogi,” and “Nanna Gopala.” “Ravana Darshanam” and “Nanna Gopala” are directed by Sasvehalli Sathish, while Shruthi Adarsha directs “Bommanahalli Kindari Jogi.”
Sasvehalli Sathish urged theatre enthusiasts and families to attend the performances, highlighting the plays’ selection to honor Kuvempu’s significant contribution to Kannada literature and culture. Shows begin at 6:30 p.m. daily. Tickets cost ₹100 for all three plays or ₹50 per individual play.
