**PERAMBALUR, Tamil Nadu, December 24, 2024** – A sub-inspector and head constable from the Perambalur district police have been suspended following the release of a video showing them allegedly accepting bribes from Sabarimala pilgrims. The incident occurred at the Thirumandhurai toll plaza on Sunday.

The video, which went viral on social media, prompted the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Tiruchi Range, to order the immediate suspension of the two officers. An inquiry into the matter has been launched. The officers were attached to the national highway traffic unit.
