**CHENNAI, December 23, 2024** – The MadRasana Carnatic Music Festival is making history this year with its first entirely microphone-free performances. Taking place at the M S Subbulakshmi Auditorium in Taramani from December 22nd to 26th, the festival aims to deliver a uniquely immersive and organic experience for both performers and audience members.
While the festival has been held at the auditorium since 2022, this is the first time all concerts have eschewed amplification. Previous years saw some artists opting for mic-less performances, highlighting the superior quality and intimacy of the experience. This year, MadRasana successfully persuaded all participating artists to embrace the unamplified format.
