**New Delhi, December 24, 2024** – A war of words has erupted between Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) V.K. Saxena and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the deteriorating civic conditions in the capital. In a letter to Mr. Kejriwal on Monday, the LG accused the AAP chief of ignoring the city’s “hellish” conditions for the past ten years. Mr. Saxena cited numerous issues, including Yamuna pollution, clogged drains, dilapidated roads, water shortages, and delayed hospital construction.
This follows a letter sent the previous day highlighting the “miserable conditions” in Rangpuri Pahari. After Chief Minister Atishi visited the area, Mr. Kejriwal responded to the LG, acknowledging the problems in Rangpuri Pahari and promising swift action to address them. He invited the LG to highlight any other areas requiring attention.
The AAP, however, issued a statement accusing the LG of prioritizing politics over his responsibility for law and order, which they claim is deteriorating. The ongoing exchange underscores the deep political divide between the LG and the AAP government in Delhi.
