Tue Dec 24 14:52:16 UTC 2024: ## Kerala Cashew Factories Secure Raw Material Amidst Retirement Wave

**KOLLAM, KERALA – December 24, 2024** – The Kerala State Cashew Development Corporation (KSCDC) and Capex will receive 3,000 metric tonnes of raw cashew nuts (RCN) from Mozambique to ensure the continued operation of their factories. The shipment is expected to arrive between January 15th and 20th, providing sufficient raw material for three months of operation.

This procurement comes as 185 employees are set to retire on December 31st. Despite this, KSCDC chairman S. Jayamohan and Capex chairman M. Sivasanakara Pillai confirmed that the factories will remain operational, reflecting the government’s commitment to maintaining public sector undertakings. Current operations will continue until January 15th, encompassing shelling (until January 5th) and peeling/grading. The factories are currently operating to facilitate a farewell ceremony for the retiring employees.
