**Jalna, Maharashtra –** A 55-year-old man, Baburao Anna Kale, wanted for a 2003 robbery and attempted murder in Palghar, Maharashtra, has been arrested after evading police for 21 years. Kale, a member of the Pardhi gang, was apprehended on December 20th in his native village in Jalna district.

The arrest culminates a long investigation into a January 2003 incident where four individuals broke into a bungalow in Virar, tying up the occupants and stealing gold ornaments worth ₹1.33 lakh and ₹25,000 in cash. While one accomplice, Suchinath alias Rajesh Satyavan Pawar, was arrested in 2005, Kale and two others remained at large.

Recently, the Mira Bhayander-Vasai Virar (MBVV) crime branch revived the investigation, receiving a tip-off about Kale’s location in Jalna. A joint operation with local police led to his arrest.

Interrogation revealed Kale’s involvement in at least 10 other crimes, including property theft and attempted murder, across Jalna and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar districts. The search for the two remaining suspects from the 2003 robbery continues. Kale faces charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including robbery, wrongful confinement, and attempted murder.
