**NEW DELHI** – A severe cold wave is gripping India, impacting both mountainous and plains regions. Heavy snowfall in the Himalayan states has intensified the chill across the country, with several northern states experiencing freezing temperatures, dense fog, and harsh cold winds. The situation is particularly dire in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and other northern states where many are struggling with the plummeting temperatures. Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) are expected to see a further dip in temperatures in the coming days.
