Tue Dec 24 09:30:00 UTC 2024: ## India Women’s Cricket Team Equals Highest ODI Score, Thrash West Indies

**Vadodara, India:** The Indian women’s cricket team achieved a dominant victory over the West Indies in the second ODI of their series on Tuesday, equaling their highest-ever ODI total in the process. Batting first after winning the toss, India amassed a formidable 358/5, matching their previous best score set against Ireland in 2017.

The innings was powered by stellar performances from several batters. Harleen Deol smashed her maiden ODI century, scoring 115 runs. Smriti Mandhana continued her excellent form, notching her fifth consecutive ODI fifty (53 runs), while Jemimah Rodrigues (52) and Pratika Rawal (76 – her first ODI fifty) also contributed significantly. Mandhana and Rawal started the innings with a century opening partnership (110 runs). Further partnerships between Rawal and Deol (62 runs), and Deol and Rodrigues (116 runs) propelled India to their massive total.

This impressive display follows India’s 211-run victory in the first ODI on Sunday, where Mandhana scored 91 runs. The West Indies bowlers struggled to contain the Indian batting lineup, with Deandra Dottin, Afy Fletcher, Zaida James, and Kaysia Joseph each claiming a wicket.

The win firmly places India in the driver’s seat for the series, showcasing their batting prowess and setting a high bar for the remaining matches.
