**Bengaluru, December 22, 2024** – A warrant has been issued for the arrest of former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa for allegedly failing to deposit provident fund (PF) contributions for employees of his company. Uthappa, 39, is a director at Centaurus Lifestyle Brands in Bengaluru.
The Regional PF Commissioner, Gopal Reddy, issued the warrant on December 4th after Uthappa allegedly failed to respond to notices regarding unpaid PF dues totaling ₹23.36 lakh. These funds were deducted from employees’ salaries but never deposited into their respective PF accounts.
Following Uthappa’s lack of response, Reddy filed a complaint with the police, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant. Uthappa has been ordered to deposit the outstanding amount into the employees’ PF accounts by December 27th. Failure to comply will result in his arrest.
