Fri Dec 20 18:57:17 UTC 2024: ## Bajaj Launches Updated Chetak Electric Scooter with Increased Range and Features

**MUMBAI, INDIA** – Bajaj Auto today launched the updated Chetak EV 35 series, boasting a significant upgrade in range and features. The new lineup starts at ₹1.20 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available for booking immediately, with deliveries commencing at the end of December.

The most notable improvement is the increased range, reaching 153 km on a single charge thanks to a new 3.5 kWh battery pack. Bajaj claims real-world range will be around 125 km. Charging from 0-80% now takes just three hours thanks to a new onboard charger – a unique feature in the EV scooter market.

The 35 series includes three variants, with an entry-level model featuring steel wheels and drum brakes, details of which will be released later. Higher-end models will benefit from a longer wheelbase, achieved through a completely redesigned chassis. This redesign also contributes to an 80mm longer seat and a larger boot capable of holding two helmets.

Further enhancements include a new TFT instrument cluster with full map navigation, music connectivity, and call/message notifications. Bajaj has also incorporated a new motor and improved battery cooling.

Bajaj highlighted strong sales figures for the Chetak EV, reporting 9,513 units sold between December 1st and 14th, outperforming competitors like TVS iQube and Ola S1 during the same period. The company has sold over 300,000 Chetak EVs to date. The updated model retains the classic Chetak design, but with improved practicality and technology.
