Sat Dec 21 06:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Daddy Yankee Sues Estranged Wife for Allegedly Misappropriating $80 Million

**San Juan, Puerto Rico** – Reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee has filed a lawsuit against his estranged wife, Mireddys González, alleging she illegally withdrew $80 million from his record label, El Cartel Records. The lawsuit, filed on December 12th in San Juan, also names González’s sister, Ayeicha González Castellanos, as a defendant.

The legal action comes just weeks after Daddy Yankee announced his separation from González after nearly 30 years of marriage. The singer claims that despite being the sole owner of El Cartel Records, he was excluded from financial information and decision-making processes. He alleges that González, listed as CEO, and her sister, the secretary/treasurer, mismanaged the company, leading to negligent performance and a detrimental impact on its operations.

The lawsuit further alleges that González and her sister attempted to exert undue control over El Cartel Records, including a poorly negotiated sale of a portion of Daddy Yankee’s music catalog to Concord. The singer claims the sale price was far below market value and that he lacks crucial details about the transaction.

Daddy Yankee is seeking the immediate removal of González and her sister from their positions within the company and demands full transparency regarding the financial records. Representatives for González have not yet commented on the allegations. The couple, who married in March 1995, have two children together.
