**New Delhi** – The Delhi Police have transferred the case against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to the Crime Branch. The case stems from a scuffle in Parliament on Thursday, where BJP MPs Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput were injured. The BJP alleges Gandhi pushed the MPs, while Gandhi claims he was himself threatened and obstructed by BJP members.
The initial FIR, filed at Parliament Street Police Station, charged Gandhi under several sections, including those related to voluntarily causing hurt, endangering life, criminal intimidation, and common intention. The injured BJP MPs were hospitalized but are reportedly recovering.
The Congress party has also filed a complaint against BJP lawmakers alleging misconduct towards party chief Mallikarjun Kharge. Delhi Police confirmed they are investigating both complaints and reviewing video footage of the incident.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized the police investigation, calling it a sign of BJP desperation. The Crime Branch will now lead the investigation into the allegations against Rahul Gandhi.
