**New Delhi, [Date]** – The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) announced the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 today. A remarkable 14 candidates achieved a perfect 100 percentile score, with 13 hailing from engineering backgrounds and only one from a non-engineering background.

However, the story doesn’t end there. A significant number of aspirants narrowly missed the top spot. 29 candidates scored 99.99 percentile, a mere 0.01 percentile shy of a perfect score. Of these, 27 were male and 2 female. An additional 30 candidates achieved a 99.98 percentile score, placing them only 0.02 percentile away from the top. This highlights the intense competition within the CAT examination.

A total of 2.93 lakh candidates appeared for the CAT 2024 exam out of 3.29 lakh registered candidates. The CAT scores are used for admission to 20 IIMs across India, including prestigious institutes like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Indore.
